Picture of a dead rose. Reduced the saturation all the way. Used old photo effect and then old paper effect

Experimenting with threshold

Added a threshold adjustment layer above the original, merged down, deleted the white area, added a gradient layer underneath, merged down again. Then I used the cut out filter and added a slight texture.

Lets see what you can do with threshold.

sun challenge

I started with a circle, used the lasso tool to make the shapes of the rays and filled with color. duplicated the layer, lowered the opacity and rotated it slightly. Added a gradient layer. I used the paint daubs filter (I think) I play so much I sometimes forget. Underneath the sun I added a blue layer and then a cloud filter with the blending mode changed to soft light.
