Here, I made a pic from a mini scrap kit I'm working on in commemoration of the last ride for Bikers on Parade.

from Miawa

I thought I would share how I made something for one of my kits, a pendant, in hopes one of you will share how you made something and teach me. I use MPI and most of you probably use photoshop. I think it's the same principal with tools, they may have a different name and the layering process is different. I'm sure you can convert it.
OK, somebody join me

I opened a new canvas and added a black heart from a cookie cutter

Then I added gold gradient in a circular pattern

Then I added another black heart on top of the gold

and used the edge smoother (top layer, black) at 70% which adds depth to the first layer that is now showing on the edges only.

To be simple and cheesy I thought to use the text letter U for my chain loop. I turned it upside down, copied it and put it on top of the original U. Underneath is black and top is gold then the edge smoother to give the loop depth.

I saved a rose from and embroidery site I had been to some time ago. It only took a minute to clean it out and save it as .png. Used the same gold gradient and layerd/sized it on the heart.

I had so I did

I had a yuk pic of my grandson, flash didn't go off and it was at night. For some reason I saved it and today felt like playing with it.

He is 17 and into funk, weird, a skateboarder all that and I think I turned the picture into something he will really like when he see's it, his mama loves it.

I brightened the pic and added contrast then went to black and white. Then I added grain and jitters, mirrored it at the bottom of the pic. I added a dreary ragged edge in black, I threw the lens flare and wa-la!

started with this

ended up with this, just playing with, I hate to throw any pic away.

Me once again

I used a photo of my son and his wife on the river, I used pencil effect and then made an overlay of canvas with a brush. I then changed the overlay to a gradient color and used transparency.
I added to a black matte

ok I'll see your unsaturate with one fully saturate and I'll ... (LOL)

I used full saturation, sharpened 100% for detail and used the flowers as the overlay on a navy background. Then I used a 'plastic wrap' effect for the glow and finally 'watercolor', phew! Just took off and couldn't stop!

Kind of

The above is the pic I started from, cropped the center, put a lace layer over top with a gradient and something (hehe). I am not real sure of what I did, maybe a render? Then I desaturated and voila. I enjoy doing this, it gets me to play around with photoshop and see what I can do.
